Hopkinton Today: Thursday, Jan. 13

by | Jan 13, 2022 | Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

Nanci Milone Hill has enough experience in libraries to fill a book. Now, she’s eager to apply her 20 years of wide-ranging expertise in her newly appointed position as director of Hopkinton Public Library.

Jim Corsi and Betty White likely never met, but they have something in common following their recent deaths: Both are serving as inspirations.

There are two MLK Day virtual events planned in Hopkinton for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day long weekend: the Islamic Masumeen School of Hopkinton’s Zoom event on Sunday, and the Freedom Team’s broadcast on HCAM on Monday.

This week’s edition of the Police Log includes two arrests along with reports of deceased deer on Legacy Farms North Road and in a Proctor Street backyard, a snowmobile hitting a fence, and vehicles crashing into poles on West Main Street, Front Street and Proctor Street.

Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7), Appropriation Committee (7) and Community Preservation Committee (7).

Photo of the Day: This issue’s winner of the Hopkinton Independent/Bill’s Pizza photo contest is Kathy Parrow for this photo of snowflakes on a holly leaf off Hayden Rowe Street.
