Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Hopkinton might end up playing a key role in helping to end the COVID-19 pandemic, as the biotech company LakePharma announced that it will work to develop and produce a vaccine at its facility on South Street. LakePharma revealed Monday that it has established a “strategic partnership” with Akston Biosciences, which “develops new classes of biologic therapeutics.”
The Spoon, a popular local diner located at 1 Lumber St., announced that after business this Sunday it will close its doors for the rest of the winter. “This is not an easy decision, but we feel it is the right decision for our business & family that we close through this winter season,” the announcement reads. “Sunday, January 10th will be our last day open until further notice.”
Town meetings tonight include the Open Space Preservation Commission (7) and the Youth Commission (7).
