Hopkinton Today: Thursday, July 28

by | Jul 28, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The Select Board on Wednesday finalized the warrant for the Aug. 18 Special Town Meeting, with the School Department putting forth the only article. The schools are seeking Town Meeting’s approval of $850,000 to cover the additional construction costs to add four classrooms to the Marathon School.

This week’s Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of youths running on rooftops of buildings, a cat that was struck and killed on Wood Street, and the still-wayward bull in the vicinity of Ash Street.

The next Veterans Breakfast is next Friday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m. at the Hopkinton Senior Center and is sponsored by a grateful veteran. Organizers will recall several past military events that happened on this date and entertain sports fans with baseball events from Aug. 5.

Town meetings tonight include the Personnel Committee (5:30).
