by | Mar 23, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Ice dancing has taken T.J. Carey around the world, and he has competed at the highest levels of national and international skating, but the Hopkinton resident will be close to home as he takes part in the Ice Chips theatrical skating show on April 7 and 8 in Norwood.

Pedestrian safety was a recurring theme Tuesday night in a virtual meeting on how to integrate the needs of walkers into Hopkinton’s infrastructure.

At a pretrial hearing on Wednesday morning in Framingham District Court, the attorney for Hillers Pizza owner Petros “Peter” Sismanis — who has been charged with one count of indecent assault of a minor and two counts of witness intimidation — was granted a postponement until May 24.

This week’s Police Log includes reports of fiberglass in a bed, a road rage incident and juveniles trespassing at a construction site.

The Knights of Columbus is hosting a fundraising event for adults called A Nite at the Races on Saturday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall.

Town meetings tonight include the Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30) and Board of Assessors (5:30).

Photo of the Day: This week’s winner of the Hopkinton Independent/Bill’s Pizza photo contest is Mary Ostiguy for this photo of Dusty the cat lounging on a box of nails at Hopkinton Lumber.
