Hopkinton Today: Thursday, May 11

by | May 11, 2023 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

In what was described as one of its most significant decisions, the Elementary School Building Committee on Tuesday voted to select an electric ground source heat pump system for the proposed Elmwood School replacement project.

This week’s Police Log includes one arrest along with reports of a lost iPad at Town Meeting, unwelcome dirt bikers and a large turtle on Huckleberry Road.

The town announced that a public hearing will be held during next Tuesday’s Select Board meeting on the proposed use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds on a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) filtration system for the municipal water supply.

Hopkinton High School senior Owen Fitzpatrick will present an exhibition at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts featuring artwork right off the walls of people’s homes, showcasing what it means to be a family. “More Than Four Walls” runs May 13 through June 24.

Town meetings tonight include the Open Space Preservation Commission (7), School Committee (7) and Cultural Council (7).
