Hopkinton Today: Thursday, April 25

by | Apr 25, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Following a reconciliation by two estimators, the construction costs for the newly named Charleswood School are under budget by $1.4 million, with $9.9 million in contingencies remaining. With that information in mind, the Elementary School Building Committee on Tuesday revisited the idea of alternatives that would either subtract or add to the project total.

This week’s Police Log includes three arrests along with reports of a tractor-trailer striking a telephone pole on Main Street, road rage on West Main Street, and youths breaking into the former Liberty Mutual building on Frankland Road.

Our latest Move In Style Athlete Spotlight shines on girls lacrosse standout Abby Burke, “an incredibly well-rounded player” who leads the team in draw controls and ground balls.

The Hopkinton High School boys and girls track and field teams posted victories over host Ashland on Tuesday, and we have photos.

Town meetings tonight include the School Committee (7) and Community Preservation Committee (7).

Photo of the Day: Amit Jagdale shares drone photos over the Legacy Farms North neighborhood, including some stunning sunsets.
