Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Select Board on Tuesday emphasized the need for level-service funding and building town department budgets from the bottom up because of the town’s increasing tax rates over the next several years.

In an email to town officials, the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources confirmed an infestation of spotted lanternflies was present in Hopkinton.

This week’s Police Log features reports of an accident between a school bus and a truck, a lost firearm and a person napping in their car.

The Hopkinton High School cross country teams took on Ashland on Tuesday afternoon at Hopkinton State Park in their second and final home meets of the season, and we have photos.

Friends of Whitehall is hosting its fall lake and trail cleanup at Whitehall State Park on Wood Street (Route 135) on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m.-noon.
