Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
An email from Superintendent of Schools Carol Cavanaugh to district families Monday indicated that Thursday’s School Committee meeting will include a presentation — but not a vote — about the return to school and face coverings to help protect against COVID-19. Meanwhile, Hopkinton Health Director Shaun McAuliffe said Hopkinton continues to do a good job minimizing the spread in town.
The Parks & Recreation Department’s Concert on the Common this Sunday will have an Indian flavor, as Din Check — billed as New England’s premier Bollywood band — performs at 5 p.m. The performance coincides with India Independence Day and is part of Parks & Rec’s initiative to “include more diverse musical acts to the concert series,” Parks & Rec director Jay Guelfi stated.
Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library will host a popup book sale at the entrance to the library this Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. Book selections include fiction, children’s, mystery, graphic novels, science fiction and biographies.
Town meetings tonight include the Conservation Commission (7).
