Hopkinton Today: Tuesday, Aug. 20

by | Aug 20, 2024 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Embattled former Hopkinton Police Sgt. Tim Brennan was suspended from his current job as a Milford patrol officer by the state’s police disciplinary agency pending a disciplinary hearing and a further look into the circumstances that led to his being fired by the HPD in February. The Milford police chief expressed frustration with the decision.

The Hopkinton Police Department will have eyes in the skies following its acquisition of two drones that will greatly expand the department’s capabilities to analyze concerning situations and assist town departments.

This week’s Real Estate Transactions list shows six sales, half of which are for more than $1 million.

Due to the timing of Labor Day, the DPW has changed the date of this month’s white metal collection day to Saturday, Aug. 24, from 7 a.m.-noon at the DPW building at 66 Fruit Street.

Town meetings tonight include the Conservation Commission (7).
