Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Planning Board is keeping its options open when it comes to dealing with commercial ground-mounted solar, voting at Monday’s special meeting to put placeholders on the Town Meeting warrant for both a general bylaw and a zoning bylaw addressing tree-cutting, while deciding to keep the placeholder for the solar overlay district map.
Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh announced Monday evening that all learning — in-person and remote — has been canceled for Tuesday due to the ongoing snowstorm. Snow started falling Monday morning and is predicted to continue throughout the day Tuesday, ending very late at night.
The Wayland School Committee announced Friday that it selected former Everett school administrator and onetime professional football player Omar Easy to be its next superintendent. Hopkinton assistant superintendent Jennifer Parson had been a finalist for the position.
Town meetings tonight include the Select Board (6) and Historical Commission (7).
