Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Planning Board met last night and continued its discussion about the proposed solar farm off Frankland Road, focusing on screening and other ways to minimize the visual impact of the project. The hearing was continued to Aug. 3. Also at the meeting, Gary Trendel was elected as the new chair.
The School Committee announced it will hold weekly Zoom office hours leading up to the start of the school year to provide an opportunity for the community to ask questions, raise concerns, or provide feedback on school matters. Click here for more details.
State Rep. Carolyn Dykema announced Monday that her annual Senior Picnic has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event traditionally is held in Hopkinton every August and draws close to 200 seniors from the 8th Middlesex District’s four towns.
The Select Board has scheduled a brief meeting today at 6 p.m. The Conservation Commission also will meet at 6 p.m.
