Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Leading off this week’s Independent Thoughts, the Hopkinton Cultural Council hosted the unveiling of the newest additions to the Celebration of Diversity Mural Project on Monday, while the annual Art on the Trail exhibit opens Thursday.

The latest Tales from a Townie story recounts a bike ride around Lake Whitehall in 1951.

Leading off the Schools Notebook, national semifinalists for the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program were announced last month, and the list includes five students from Hopkinton High School: Abigail Baskin, Bableen Gill, Zachary Krymgold, Prisha Shrivastava and Amanda Xie.

In her fourth season as coach of the Hopkinton High School boys cross country team, Laura McKenzie continues to be impressed by how hard her runners work during the offseason.

This week’s Library Corner includes information on One Book, One Hopkinton programs, open video game play, a Chinese Acrobatics performance and more.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Assessors (5:30), Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30), Select Board (6), Appropriation Committee (6:30), Design Review Board (6:30), Conservation Commission (7) and Youth Commission (7).
