Hopkinton Today: Tuesday, Oct. 3

by | Oct 3, 2023 | Featured: Features,

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Tim Wakefield never lived in Hopkinton, but his presence was felt here every spring. The Red Sox legend, who passed away Sunday at the age of 57 after a battle with brain cancer, appeared at the Sharon Timlin Memorial Road Race at Hopkinton High School every June except this one.

“History Is No Mystery: The Conversation Continues” can be viewed at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ Lotvin Family Gallery Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. starting this Friday through Nov. 11.

Our latest Professional Insights column from Edward Jones financial advisor Mark Freeman addresses the question of whether it’s better to invest or speculate.

Town meetings tonight include the Lake Maspenock Weed Management and Control Advisory Group (5), Select Board (6) and Historical Commission (7).

Photo of the Day: Michael and Barbara Girardi, parents of the late Evan Girardi, for whom the Live4Evan charity is named, speak at the organization’s Oktoberfest fundraiser Sunday at Start Line Brewing.
