Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Hopkinton Public Schools superintendent Carol Cavanaugh, during an appearance on Tuesday’s Hopkinton Hangout Hour on HCAM, acknowledged that time is running out to finalize an agreement with teachers, who are scheduled to return to their buildings next Monday to prepare for school reopening on Sept. 16, but she said she is optimistic a deal will be finalized.
During public comment at Tuesday’s Select Board meeting, vice chair Irfan Nasrullah offered his take on last week’s calls for Planning Board member Muriel Kramer to resign due to her involvement with the Massachusetts Bail Fund, criticizing the statements and defending Kramer.
The Select Board approved reducing the number required for a public quorum at Town Meeting to 80 in an effort to ensure that the Sept. 12 Town Meeting will start on time. The board also went through some of the 21 articles on the warrant.
The School Committee will hold office hours today from 1-2 p.m. The Design Review Board meets at 6 p.m. and the Board of Appeals meets at 7.
