by | May 6, 2020 | Featured Front Page,

Good morning, Hopkinton!

For those new to the site, this post is a daily update we call Hopkinton Today. We’ll have a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights for the coming day and a video or two to brighten your day.

Hopkinton’s COVID-19 update from yesterday shows the town has had 105 confirmed cases, with 65 active, 30 recoveries and 10 deaths.

The governor’s order requiring face masks or cloth face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible goes into effect today. Hopkinton’s order began Monday.

An Air Force flyover is scheduled today in Massachusetts. It will start in Westfield and head along the MassPike on its way to Boston. It is expected to be viewable from Hopkinton between 12:15 and 12:25 p.m.

A century ago, the world faced a similar pandemic. Hopkinton librarian Linda Connelly did some research into how Hopkinton dealt with the situation then and what we learned from it.

Video of the Day: This young man recreated the NBA theme song with pots and pans and a ping-pong ball going into a cup. He indicated that it took him four days and more than 1,500 tries before he was successful.

Music Video of the Day: Here’s Spin Doctors with “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong.” Enjoy.
