Irene Michalik, 94

Irene (Woleck) Michalik, age 94, of Hopkinton and formerly of Milford and Bellingham, passed away Aug. 16 in Milford after a period of declining health. She was the devoted wife of the late Lester E. Michalik, who passed away in 2006.

Irene was born in Mendon on Sept. 23, 1926, to the late Alexander and Anna (Osachuk) Woleck. She graduated second in her class in 1944 from Mendon High School.

Irene worked for Milford Regional Hospital for over 40 years until retirement.

She loved traveling with Lester. One of their most memorable trips was to Switzerland. She also enjoyed polka dancing and playing bingo.

Irene is survived by her loving daughters, Linda A. McKay of Milford and Donna Domenicucci and husband Joseph of Medway; her grandsons, Eric Domenicucci of Medway and Justin McKay and wife Erynn of Holden; and two great grandchildren, Shawn and John Thomas McKay of Holden. She was predeceased by her husband, parents and brother, George Woleck.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Aug. 22, from 2-5 p.m. at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford. A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. also at Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Milford.
