Library Staff Update
Adult services librarian Jessi McCarthy, who recently was serving as interim library director, left to pursue a new career opportunity. “We will all miss her easygoing and affable presence within our team, greatly appreciate her work and advocacy for the library and wish her nothing but the best in her future position,” a library spokesman shared.

Conversation Circles at the Library
Fridays, 10:30 a.m.-noon (in person)
This program will provide an opportunity for English language learners to practice vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar in a fun, comfortable, laid-back environment. Register at the library’s website calendar. More classes will be coming in January.

Baptiste Power Yoga Class
Mondays, Dec. 6, 13, 20 and 27, noon (Zoom)

Author Ted Reinstein on ‘Before Brooklyn’
Tuesday, Dec. 14, 7 p.m. (Zoom)
Author and “Chronicle” correspondent Ted Reinstein’s book tells the story of the little-known heroes who fought segregation in baseball, from communist newspaper reporters to the Pullman car porters who saw to it that black newspapers espousing integration in professional sports reached the homes of Blacks throughout the country. Donate Books
Friends of the Hopkinton Public Library collect donated books for sales that are the organization’s major fundraising effort. Anyone with clean, gently used books can donate them on the second floor by the Friends room. Books should be clean and undamaged with no notes, no scribbles, no mustiness and no yellow pages. Publications not accepted include sticker and coloring books, magazines, technical books, computer manuals, dictionaries and encyclopedias.
