Main Street Corridor Project update: Eastbound detours begin Friday

by | Aug 6, 2026 | News

A.F. Amorello & Sons will implement eastbound detours on Main Street beginning on Friday, according to the latest Main Street Corridor Project update.

Ahead of final paving for the east side of the project, crews need to prepare the area from the fire station to Ray Street. Paving will commence on Aug. 17.

The detour will begin on Friday. Traffic will be routed down Pleasant Street to Maple Street and then on to Hayden Rowe Street. The detour will remain in place from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug 10-14 and Aug. 17-21. Work will not occur on the weekends. Additional detours and lane closures will be used as needed.

[Editor’s note: The dates of the detour have been edited for clarity.]

Residents are asked to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs.

Weather and other existing conditions may change the projected work schedule. Detours or alternating traffic will be used as needed for project work. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
