Main Street Corridor Project update: Walkway work continues

by | Oct 25, 2024 | News

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday shared that walkway work will resume on Main Street during the upcoming week.

Addresses affected by this work include 35, 36 and 77 Main Street. Miscellaneous work also will continued along the corridor.

The town is awaiting the schedule from Eversource to begin overhead to underground services. It is also waiting for the schedule from Verizon to complete overhead utility transfers on west side of the project.  All 12 transformers previously have been installed.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
