As the region recovers from Monday’s torrential storm, the town announced that a major water main broke Tuesday morning.

Department of Public Works Director Kerry Reed announced Tuesday morning via email that crews are responding to a water main break on White Street.

Stated Reed: “Expect water disruption. Some areas may notice some discoloration.”

Eric Carty, the town’s Water & Sewer Department manager, added that  the major water main break “will cause discoloration throughout the town.”

UPDATE: Reed announced late Tuesday afternoon that the repairs were completed and water service was restored.

“Please be advised temporary water discoloration may still occur, due to the size and location of the break,” Reed shared. “Please continue to check your water before running laundry, dishwashers and other appliances.”
