Meserve Street flow test could cause water discoloration

by | May 6, 2025 | News

The Water-Sewer Department is advising residents to be aware of potential water discoloration Wednesday following a required flow test on Meserve Street.

Crews will be conducting the flow test at 6 p.m. Wednesday on Meserve Street, near the Next Generation Children’s Center. Water-Sewer Manager Eric Carty noted the test could cause water discoloration in the center of town.

Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released.

Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.

For more information, visit the Water-Sewer Department’s website or call 508-497-9765.
