The elderly man who had been missing since Sunday night was found alive at approximately 10:40 a.m. Tuesday by members of the Massachusetts State Police Special Emergency Response Team, the State Police announced.

The man, 84-year-old Jim Noon, was discovered “lying in a wooded area a short distance from Icehouse Pond in the Berry Acres conservation area off West Main Street in Hopkinton,” the press release reads. “He was conscious and alert and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.”

Noon had disappeared from The Communities at Golden Pond assisted living facility, where he recently became a resident, on Sunday around 10 p.m. Approximately 40 first responders from various agencies assisted in the search.
