Athlete Spotlight-Barros

A multi-time Tri-Valley League All-Star, Barros is the only boy to qualify for the state meet in three jumping events, according to HHS coach Mike Donahue. His personal bests include 21 feet in the long jump, 6 feet, 2 inches in the high jump, and a school-record 45 feet, 1 inch in the triple jump. Donahue suggests the Sacred Heart-bound Barros might have greater success competing in college “due to his explosiveness and ability to learn techniques rapidly.” Added Donahue: “His teammates love him, and he has been a joy to have on the team the past four years.”

Move In Style, sponsored by Custom Home Realty’s Laura Wauters, is a weekly Hopkinton Independent feature. Each week during the school year, we will highlight a different Hopkinton High School athlete, selected after consultation with HHS coaches.
