Patricia Paliulis
Patricia Elaine “Patty” (Bean) Paliulis, 72, passed away on Oct. 4 in Wayland.
Born in Fitchburg on Oct. 4, 1954, Patty was the daughter of Robert H. Bean and Martha (Poirier) Bean. She grew up in Fitchburg, belonged to Immaculate Conception Parish and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1972. She went on to graduate from the Chandler School for Women secretarial school in 1973 and later took evening management and accounting classes at Bentley College.
Patty married Algis L. “Al” Paliulis in September 1978. They moved in 1980 to Hopkinton, where they raised their two sons, Michael and Alex. She considered one of the greatest gifts in her life to be the decision to stay home with her children during their preschool years. Summers were spent at the family’s house in Barnstead, New Hampshire. She later returned to work as a credit manager for Jaime Oil, where she spent 16 years before retiring in 2019.
Patty and Al loved the beaches of Ogunquit. She was an avid reader who enjoyed nothing more than a couple of quiet hours with her favorite authors, Janet Evanovich, Michael Connelly and John Sandford. She loved shopping, whatever the occasion, as well as decorating her home and planting flowers of every kind.
In addition to her husband of 48 years, Al, she is survived by her sons Michael Paliulis and wife Casey, and Alex Paliulis and wife Miranda; her grandchildren, Fox, Alfie, Nolan and Blair; and her sisters, Carolyn Beaulieu and husband James, Susan Bean and husband Ray Walton, and Nancy Cormier and husband Karl. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert Bean.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11, from 2-5 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by lunch at Prezo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute.
Obituaries are submissions, typically from funeral homes, that are not subject to the same level of editorial oversight as the rest of the Hopkinton Independent. Obituaries may be edited for grammatical and factual mistakes and clarifications and shortened for space considerations.
