Phases of ramp work at I-495/I-90 interchange begin Monday

by | Jun 22, 2025 | News

Work on multiple ramps on the MassPike/Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton is set to pick up again this week, starting Monday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

MassDOT has scheduled phases of ramp work that will impact drivers from Monday through Friday. All work is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. and conclude at 5 a.m. and is weather-permitting.

Starting on Monday, the I-495 ramp (Exit 58) to I-90 (MassPike) westbound will be closed. Traffic will be directed to follow detour signs on to I-90 east to use Exit 111 in order to reverse direction. That work is expected to continue through Tuesday.

The I-90 eastbound to I-495 northbound ramp will be closed starting Monday as well. Traffic will detour southbound on I-495 to West Main Street in Hopkinton (Exit 54A) in order to reverse direction back to I-495 northbound. Work will continue through Wednesday evening.

Wednesday through Friday, the ramps from I-90 eastbound and westbound to I-495 southbound will be closed. The detour will route drivers northbound on I-495 to reverse direction at Route 9 (Exit 59B).

Appropriate signage and law enforcement details will be in place. Drivers should anticipate delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones.

For more information on traffic conditions, drivers can visit the Mass511 website, which features travel times and real-time traffic.
