Ruth Dusseault

Ruth Esther (Mercer) Dusseault, 90, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2026, after a long illness, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late George “Bud” Dusseault Sr. Born April 10, 1936, in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Dunham) Mercer. She resided in Hopkinton as well as Woonsocket, Rhode Island, for many years before moving to Connecticut.

Ruth was employed as a dispatcher at ComGas in Southborough until her retirement. In her earlier years, she worked as a bank manager and treasurer for Guaranty First Trust Company in Natick.

A woman of deep faith in Jesus Christ, Ruth was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association since 1998 and belonged to the local chapter, Riders To Nineveh. She was an avid reader and a collector of teacups and carousels, and she loved to knit and crochet. She was also a true lover of animals and cherished the companionship of many beloved dogs and cats throughout her lifetime.

Some of her favorite memories were made with her family while camping at Nickerson State Park, watching the sunset at Rock Harbor, and sunbathing and walking the boardwalk at Hampton Beach. She was a devoted and loving mother, stepmother, grandmother and great-grandmother who is greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Ruth is survived by her children, Sharon (Michael) Pelley-Ferullo of Franklin, Linda (Victor) Burnett of Danielson, Connecticut, and Richard “Scott” (Charlene) Pelley of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; her stepson, Adam Dusseault of Florida, and stepdaughter, Lorna Dusseault (deceased); 17 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Diane, Michelle, Joanne, Dawn, Ginelle, Drew, Sarah, Jimmy, Amanda, Lindsey, Lauren, Katie, Desiree, Alyssa and Jarrod; as well as 17 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie and Phyllis, and her brothers, Atwell and David.

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Friday, June 12, at noon at Lighthouse Church of God in Plainfield, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, please join the family in making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association online at alz.org, or by mail to 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
