Schools Notebook: Elementary School Building Committee starts work

by | Aug 2, 2021 | Education

The newly formed Hopkinton Elementary School Building Committee-2 (ESBC-2) met for the first time on July 15 at Elmwood School. The committee, formed by a vote at the May 18 Select Board meeting, is tasked with coming up with a plan to replace Elmwood.

Jon Graziano was elected chair and Joe Markey vice chair.

“We are excited to follow in the example of the previous Elementary School Building Committee, partnering with the community and the MSBA [Massachusetts School Building Authority] to develop a solution that will allow Hopkinton’s educators to deliver a high level of education to our student and one which will be embraced by all members of the Hopkinton community,” Graziano stated.

The ESBC-2 is scheduled to meet again Oct. 14 at Elmwood to review the current conditions of the school. All meetings are open to the public, and input from members of the community is encouraged.
