Zoe Le Vine went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four runs batted in as the Hopkinton High School softball team opened postseason play with a 13-4 rout of visiting Shepherd Hill on Monday.

The second-seeded Hillers (18-3) next will host 15th-seeded Marblehead (17-4) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Division 2 tournament’s second round.

Callie Arthur also went 4-for-4 for Hopkinton, picking up two RBI. Ashley Callery was 3-for-4 with two RBI, and Holly Paharik hit a two-run home run.

Addy Walls, in addition to collecting two hits and an RBI, picked up the win on the mound, recording 13 strikeouts.

Shepherd Hill opened the scoring in the first via an infield single, stolen base, passed ball and fielder’s choice RBI groundout. The Rams had a chance to expand on that lead in the second inning but left runners on second and third.

Hopkinton answered in the bottom of the second, as Walls singled home Arthur, who had doubled. Le Vine followed with a run-scoring double to the fence in center field to give the hosts the lead for good.

In the fourth, Callery led off with a hard single. Zoe Adams then hit a ground ball to third, and the throw to second sailed into the outfield. Callery raced home and Adams took third. One out later, Arthur ripped an RBI single up the middle. Arthur took second on a passed ball and moved to third on a Walls single. Elena Valis pinch-ran for Walls and stole second. Le Vine then delivered a two-run single, and, one out later, Paharik ripped a two-run home run to make it 8-1. The rally was not yet over, as Caroline Ozmun walked. Pinch-runner Ava Davenport took second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Callery.

In the fifth, Arthur singled, stole second and scored on a double by Le Vine to make it 10-1.

Olivia Jankowski slammed a solo home run for Shepherd Hill to lead off the sixth.

In the bottom of the inning, Paharik was hit by a pitch, stole second, took third on a passed ball and scored on a double by Callery. Adams then walked and was thrown out trying to steal second, but Callery scored on the throw. Tenley Winn then doubled and scored on a single by Arthur.

Shepherd Hill’s Alyssa Forbes ripped a two-run single with two outs in the seventh inning to cap the scoring.

Boys tennis rolls

The HHS boys tennis team posted its second straight 5-0 win in the Division 2 tournament, this time eliminating visiting Longmeadow on Monday.

Max Sendele, Joe Krattenmaker and Ilian Glace won their singles matches, while the pairings of Rishit Shekar-Kais Guessab and Chavdar Kamenerov-Owen Gormley won at doubles.

Top-seeded Hopkinton (20-0) advances to the quarterfinals to play the winner of Tuesday’s match between eighth-seeded North Quincy and ninth-seeded Walpole.

Boys lacrosse falls

The HHS boys lacrosse saw its season come to an end with a 13-4 road loss to Tri-Valley League rival Westwood on Monday.

Hopkinton, the 23rd seed in Division 2, ends its season at 9-10. Westwood, the 10th seed, is 14-4 and headed to the Round of 16 to play seventh-seeded Marshfield.
