Letter to the Editor: Town Hall parking an issue

by | Oct 30, 2019 |

To the Editor:

Needing to go into the Town Hall, I saw the sign that I was unable to park in the parking lot where I usually park before entering the Town Hall. I was shocked. I know that a new parking lot is being planned behind the Town Hall eventually, however, for Town Hall employees and residents not to be able to park their cars in the current parking lot is wrong.

Safety is the issue when someone has to park along the downtown streets and walk across the very busy streets to the Town Hall. What happens when the parking spaces are filled up with snow? Other businesses downtown need the parking spaces outside their stores as well, and to have Town Hall employees using the spaces all day makes it harder for those who want to park close to the store or restaurant they want to go to.

The decision to stop the parking beside the Town Hall should be reconsidered. Safety is first!
