Work on water system for Charleswood project could cause water discoloration

by | May 12, 2026 | Featured: News, News

The Water-Sewer Department announced it will be completing work on the water system on Hayden Rowe Street starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday.

According to a notice from Water-Sewer Manager Jed Fenneuff, his department is conducting work on the water system related to the Charleswood School project through the rest of the week. Work will begin at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Fenneuff warned that residents on Hayden Rowe Street may experience temporary water discoloration. The issue can be resolved by residents flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released. The Water-Sewer Department recommends residents check their water before use.

Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.

For more information, visit the Water Department’s website or call 508-497-9765.
