Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.

Following a week-plus of remote-only learning due to a rise in COVID-19 cases and the ensuing contact tracing, Hopkinton High School will return to in-person learning Monday, principal Evan Bishop announced. In an email to HHS families Sunday, Bishop thanked the students for their efforts and the families for their “continued flexibility as we transitioned to full remote.”

The Hopkinton High girls basketball team is determined to make the most of a season shortened and disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But, as the Hillers are focusing on the schedule in front of them, for much of the team there is a hope that a strong contingent of juniors will help the team peak next season when things have hopefully returned to normal.

The Hopkinton Public Library, already limited to remote and curbside services only through at least Friday (Jan. 29) due to the rise in COVID cases, will be completely closed on Wednesday due to planned work on the library’s gas line. No curbside services will be provided Wednesday, although library staff will be available via email, and the “chat-a-librarian” service will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Health (5:30), Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30) and Planning Board (6:30).

Photo of the Day: Construction continues on the addition in the back of Hopkinton High School. According to superintendent Carol Cavanaugh, the project is expected to be completed by late spring, following some delays due to the pandemic and scheduling conflicts.
