HHS sports roundup: Girls, boys basketball fall to Medway

by | Feb 13, 2021 | Sports

The Hopkinton High School girls basketball team, playing its final home game of the season Friday night, dropped a 46-36 decision to Medway.

Kiki Fossbender led the Hillers with 11 points, while Carly Hedstrom had nine points, all on 3-pointers.

Hopkinton trailed 13-9 after one quarter and 24-17 at halftime. The third quarter was the Hillers’ undoing, as Medway built its lead up to 20 points. Hedstrom hit two treys in the final 30 seconds to close the gap to 14 at 42-28. The Hillers were not able to make a run in the final quarter.

The girls (6-5) close out their season with a game at Ashland on Tuesday afternoon.

The HHS boys basketball team also fell to Medway on Friday, 63-59. The boys held a two-point lead heading into the final quarter but couldn’t pull out the win.

The boys (2-6) close their season when they host Ashland on Tuesday afternoon.
