A 61-year-old man from Hopkinton was declared dead Tuesday after he was involved in a rollover crash in Interstate 495 in Tewksbury, according to State Police.

Kevin Furey was driving alone on I-495 South shortly after noon when his 2001 Mercury Sable drifted into the median and rolled down a shallow embankment. Police indicated that Furey appeared to have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident. Tewksbury EMS attempted to provide assistance, but Furey was determined to be deceased at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved, police said, adding that the incident remained under investigation.
