Photos: Scouts place flags at cemeteries for Memorial Day

by | May 27, 2021 | Featured, Featured: Features

In preparation for Memorial Day ceremonies, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts planted flags on the graves of veterans at cemeteries across town. Daisy Troop 83123 was among the Scouts planting flags at Evergreen Cemetery on Wood Street.

The town is hosting its traditional Memorial Day ceremonies Monday, minus the parade.

The day will start with a 9:45 a.m. ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville. Around 10:15 there will be a ceremony at the two cemeteries on Mayhew Street. The events will conclude with a ceremony at the Town Common, starting around 11:15 a.m. and concluding with the flag being raised from half-mast to the top around noontime.

Below is the program with the complete schedule for Monday.
