The town hosted a 9/11 Memorial Service at the Town Common on Saturday. The even was organized by the Veterans Celebration Committee, American Legion Post 202 and Old Guard New England.
Among those in attendance were members of the Hopkinton Select Board, state Rep. Carolyn Dykema, Police Chief Joseph Bennett, Fire Chief Bill Miller, Town Manager Norman Khumalo and the Hopkinton High School band.
In addition to recognizing the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and honoring those who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks, the event paid tribute to the 38 Hopkinton veterans who have passed away since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, including Post 202 members Jack Aroian, Roy Stratton, Thomas Ellam and Richard Brault.
