Lawrence “Larry” W. Pomeroy, 80, died Oct. 4 at St. Patrick’s Manor, Framingham. He was the husband of Margaret (Smith) Pomeroy, to whom he was married for 57 years. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Marshall and Mary (O’Hara) Pomeroy.
A graduate of Boston Trade High School, Larry worked for many years as an auto mechanic. While working for RCA, he worked on the Apollo moon landing as a project manager in charge of the lunar lander landing radar. His name is on a plaque attached to the lander. He was a member of the Minuteman Militia and a model train enthusiast. He volunteered for many years at St. John’s Rummage Sale.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, William L. Pomeroy and wife Melissa (Hickey) Pomeroy of Millbury, and his granddaughters, Anastasia and Natalie Pomeroy. He also leaves his siblings, David and Nancy Pomeroy.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Hopkinton. Burial will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Callanan Cronin Funeral Home.
