Mary Neary

Mary Alice (Curley) Neary, 93, of Natick died Oct. 11 with her daughters by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Martin Neary, married for 56 years. Born in Natick and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Curley and Alice F. (Kane) Curley.

Mary graduated from St. Patrick School in Natick, Natick High School and Chandler School for Women. Mary worked as a secretary to the director of placement at Wellesley College for 10 years. She later worked in the financial aid office at Lasell College. She was the co-owner of Neary Water Pump Co. with her husband, Thomas, for 37 years. Mary and Tom enjoyed summers for many years at Onset Beach.

She was the loving mother of Susan J. White and husband Robert M. of Franklin, Joanna E. Dunn and husband Thomas F. of Natick, and Jeanne A. Quaranto and husband Joseph M. of Hopkinton; and the dear sister of Thomas L. Curley and wife Anna M. of Clinton, and the late Paul R. Curley of Natick. Mary was the cherished nana to Caitlin A. (Quaranto) Lucey and husband Peter, Kevin J. Quaranto and wife Kathleen, Thomas N. Dunn and wife Katie, Connor F. Dunn, Allison M. Dunn and Christopher Russell, Timothy M. Dunn, Robert M. White Jr. and Jennifer N. (White) Coggin and husband Nicholas; great grandmother “Gigi” to Grace E. Quaranto, Luke I. Quaranto, Jeannie P. Quaranto, Peter J. Lucey Jr., Mary A. Lucey, and the late John Thomas Russell. Mary also was the dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. at St. Linus Church. Interment is in St. Patrick Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Best Buddies (bestbuddies.org/mari/donate-massachusetts) or to Children’s Hospital (giving.childrenshospital.org).
