Dorothy Meehan

Dorothy M. (Kelly) Meehan of Hopkinton, formerly of Franklin, died suddenly Feb. 6. She was the beloved wife of the late John Meehan, the loving mother of Mark Hawisher, Marcia Howarth, Marian Hawisher and James J. Hawisher, the cherished grandmother of Heidi Howarth and Hillary Howarth, and great-grandmother of Madison. She was predeceased by her brother, John Kelly. She also is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

Her working life was as an elementary school teacher in the town of Franklin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock Street, Westwood, on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in St. Margaret Mary Church, 845 High Street, Westwood, at 10 a.m. Face masks are required to be worn for both the visiting hours and the funeral Mass. Interment following the Mass will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
