Masks now optional on Hopkinton school buses

by | Feb 28, 2022 | Education, Featured: Education

Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh announced Monday that the Hopkinton Public Schools will no longer require masking on school buses starting Tuesday. Windows will be kept open on the buses.

“As always, any individual who wishes to continue to mask will be supported in that choice,” Cavanaugh wrote in an email to school families.

The state’s education commissioner, Jeffrey Riley, on Friday shared a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) update that masks are no longer required on school buses or vans for K-12 students and children in childcare programs. It was left up to individual schools and districts to decide whether or not to lift the requirements.

Hopkinton schools already went mask-optional Monday.
