Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
Following recent issues of divisiveness, the School Committee had a midyear check-in of its norms and beliefs, part of its protocols and best practices for effective meetings. The committee also discussed a proposed policy regarding the use of security cameras in schools.
The town’s latest COVID-19 update includes information on the mask mandate, which was rescinded March 2, and the remote meeting policy, which indicates town departments, boards and committees may return to in-person meetings.
The Hopkinton High School boys hockey team fell to Masconomet, 6-2, on Thursday night in a Division 2 state tournament first-round game at Haverhill Valley Forum.
This week’s Baypath Humane Society Adoptable Animal is Boston, a 2 1/2-year-old mix who “likes to keep busy and explore the world with his best friends by his side.”
Photo of the Day: The house at 10 Mayhew Street was boarded up Thursday, two days after a fire tore through the building. Hopkinton Fire Chief Bill Miller said the cause of the fire appeared to be “careless disposal of smoking material.”
