Stanley Stenberg
Stanley C. Stenberg, affectionately known as “Sonny,” passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 8 at the age of 86.
He was a native of Springfield and eldest son to Chris and Dolly Stenberg. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, member of the Sons of Norway, and owner of Tri-City Sales. He was recently a regular member of the Vineyard Church of Hopkinton and active participant at the Hopkinton Senior Center. He generously fulfilled his wishes with a whole body donation through Med Cure.
Stan was predeceased by his devoted wife, Josephine (Whipple) Stenberg, daughter Terry Ryan and brother Ronald Stenberg.
He was a loving father to daughters Karen Hedegaard (John) and Karlene Kadra (Blake) and sons Christian Nils Stenberg and Jeff Ryan (Linda), beloved brother of sister Ruth Verteramo (Paul), and brother and best friend of sister Joyce Macri (Al). He also is survived by his brother’s wife, Linda Stenberg.
He leaves six grandchildren, Allyson, Sarah, Adam, Kenneth, Joshua and April (Jamie), and three great grandchildren, Riana, Caydn and Logan.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service and celebration of his life on Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. at 357 Somers Road in Hampden.
