Robert Dunphy

Robert B. Dunphy of Hopkinton, formerly of Milton, passed away Oct. 18. Born and raised in Milton, he graduated from Milton High School. Bobby was the owner and operator of a Shell Gas Station in Quincy and worked for UPS in Ashland, where he was a member of the Teamsters Local 170. He also worked Direct Tire in Norwood for many years and Hogan Tire in Medway, Quirk Tire and Sullivan Tire. He was an avid fisherman, was the life of the party, had a great sense of humor and a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

The loving father of Sara Dunphy of Braintree, he is survived by his ex-wife and great friend, Janice Bosworth of Braintree. He was the brother of Ann Chase of Maine, John R. Dunphy of Hopkinton, Paul F. Dunphy of Needham, Gregory Dunphy of Milton, Rosemary MacDonald of Rockland, Eileen Meuse of Weymouth and the late James Dunphy and Virginia St. Ives. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home (326 Granite Avenue in Milton) are Monday, Oct. 24, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at (Our Lady of Visitation Parish) St. Elizabeth’s Church, Milton, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
