Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

The Hopkinton High School boys soccer team’s dream season will continue, as the Hillers knocked off Wayland on penalty kicks after playing to a 2-2 tie in the Division 2 state quarterfinals Sunday afternoon in Hopkinton.

The School Committee met before a packed room Thursday night to discuss proposed cuts in the upcoming special education budget, where administrators stressed that they are already stretched thin because of increases in students and the complexity of their needs.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, the eastbound detour from Pleasant Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street will be in place Monday through Friday.

Hopkinton’s Legacy Farms North neighborhood held its second annual Diwali festival on Saturday afternoon, with more than 400 people attending the event at Ashland High School.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Health (5:30), Zoning Advisory Committee (7) and Board of Library Trustees (7).
