Main Street Corridor Project update: Eastbound detours continue this week

by | Nov 13, 2022 | News

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, the eastbound detour from Pleasant Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street will be in place Monday through Friday. The eastbound detour from Grove Street to Maple Street to Hayden Rowe Street and back to Main Street will be used as needed Monday through Friday. Additionally, the westbound detour from West Main Street to Elm Street will be used for 2 1/2 days (specific days to be determined).

At the Route 135/Route 85 intersection, the contractor will focus on the Cedar Street driveways at Country Farm Liquors and the Post Office as well as concrete sidewalk work on Cedar Street and Grove Street.

On the east side of the project, service connections will be continued between the 135/85 intersection and Ash Street, and workers will continue installing hardware for underground electric vaults between the 135/85 intersection and Ash Street.

On the west side of the project, the contractor will work on sidewalks (concrete and curbing) on the south side of Main Street between the Fire Station and Claflin Place, and continue installing hardware for underground electric vaults between the 135/85 intersection and Claflin Avenue.

Working hours for the Main Street Corridor Project are 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. No detours, one-lane closures or road closures are allowed from 7-9 a.m.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing the planned tasks. For the most up-to-date information, visit the town’s project website at hopkintonmainstreet.com.
