HHS Sports Roundup: Boys tennis wins; track standout Golembiewski wins twice at Meet of Champions

The Hopkinton High School boys tennis team knocked off Longmeadow on Saturday, 4-1. The match started at the HHS outdoor courts but was moved inside to the Wayside Athletic Club in Marlborough due to wet conditions. Singles players Adam Glace and Pranav Kapur won their matches, as did the doubles teams of Roberto Rossi-Rishit Shekhar and Ilian Glace-Andrew Palacios. The fifth-seeded Hillers next will host Nashoba on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Round of 16. …

At the outdoor track Meet of Champions, senior Sean Golembiewski won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.49 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 53.82 seconds. …

The HHS girls lacrosse team saw its season come to a close with a 19-4 loss to top-seeded Lincoln-Sudbury in the Division 1 tournament’s Round of 32. Rachel Bouvier and Jaymie Arena scored two goals apiece for the Hillers. …

The girls tennis Round of 16 match against Westborough has been moved up to Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Westborough High School. The Hillers are seeded 19th while the Rangers are third in Division 2. …

Boys lacrosse, seeded 29th in Division 2, visits fourth-seeded Longmeadow on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Round of 32. …

Also Monday, HHS baseball hosts 29th-seeded Marblehead at 5 p.m. in a Division 2 Round of 32 game. Marlblehead knocked off Somerville, 13-11, in a preliminary round game on Thursday.
