Robert Terry

Robert “Bob” Terry, 81, originally from Meriden, Connecticut, passed away Dec. 11 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Born in Willimantic, Connecticut, Bob was the son of the late Dorothy (Courtemache) and Raymond T. Terry Sr. He was the husband to the late Shirley (Ciarlelli) Terry. They were married 47 years before Shirley’s passing.

Bob attended Maloney High School and earned degrees from Becker College and the University of New Haven. Bob honorably served in the U.S. Army, assigned to the Pentagon Office of Chief of Staff during the Vietnam War era. In 1976, Bob became a Connecticut state trooper, starting his career in the major crime squad of the Detective Division. He was promoted to sergeant and was responsible for all overall management and public safety at Bradley International Airport. Bob retired from the State Police and transitioned to the public sector, working as a claim investigator for Allstate Insurance. He also served on the board for the Foundation of Fair Contracting. Bob also proudly served many years in the Air National Guard. Bob was a Civil War buff as well as an aficionado of Charles Dickens, and he collected many rare historical volumes. Bob was a patriot and was devoted to his country and his family.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Sherri Alicandro and husband Chris of Hopkinton, and Melissa Czerepuszko and husband Paul, also of Hopkinton. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Connor, Jill and Josh Czerepuszko, and Marisa Alicandro. He is predeceased by his brother, Raymond T. Terry.

Arrangements are being held privately and are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Employee Recognition Fund at St. Patrick’s Manor (863 Central Street, Framingham, MA 01701) in his honor. The family of Bob cannot thank the staff of St. Patrick’s enough for the care they provided to him.
