by | Sep 2, 2024 | Featured: News, News

Voting in the state primary election will take place from 7 a.m.-8.p.m. at Hopkinton Middle School’s Brown Gym.

Those who are enrolled with a political party may obtain that party’s ballot only.

Unenrolled voters can request the ballot of any party participating in the election and will not become registered with that party as a result of their vote.

There are seven open positions on the ballot:

  • Senator in Congress
  • Representative in Congress
  • Governor’s Councilor
  • Senator in General Court
  • Representative in General Court
  • Clerk of Courts
  • Register of Deeds

Hopkinton resident and former Select Board chair Muriel Kramer is campaigning against four other Democratic candidates for a seat on the Governor’s Council. The winner of the primary will face off against Republican Francis T. Crimmins, Jr. in the general election on Nov. 5.

Tuesday’s other contested race is on the Republican ballot. Three candidates are vying for their party’s ticket in the race for U.S. Senate. The winner would challenge Elizabeth Warren in November.

Voters can check their registration status on the Secretary of State’s website. Residents with questions about voting can contact the Town Clerk’s office by phone at 508-497-9710 or email townclerk@hopkintonma.gov.
