Troop 11 Hopkinton is running its annual Thanksgiving fundraiser again this year. Community members who wish to support the Scouts can purchase both flowers and pies through the troop.

“We’ve partnered with Out Post Farm in Holliston to offer their amazing pies,” said Jennifer Donahue, Scoutmaster of Troop 11. “They’ve been very generous and a great community partner with us.” Available pie flavors include apple, pecan, pumpkin and blueberry.

The troop also has partnered with Sunnyside Gardens in Hopkinton to source fresh, local flowers arranged in holiday centerpieces and cornucopias.

Residents who are interested in buying pies or flowers can do so on the troop’s online ordering page. Orders must be placed by Nov. 19 and can be picked up on Nov. 25 from locations in Hopkinton, Westborough, Holliston, Ashland and Newton. The Scouts will hand-deliver items for an additional fee.

“We offer free delivery to the schools for teachers in the Hopkinton Public Schools,” Donahue added.

An additional feature of this year’s fundraiser is the ability for participants to donate pies to local senior citizens and/or veterans.

“It’s really special because [the seniors] are not expecting it, and it’s a little pre-Thanksgiving surprise,” said Donahue.

Money raised from the fundraiser will go toward supporting the all-girl troop, one of the first in Scouting America. Troop 11 uses the money donated to fund outdoor equipment, development opportunities and high-adventure trips.
