At Elevate Personal Training, fitness is personal.
Whether it’s a busy parent wanting to be healthy to keep up with their kids, a young athlete working to improve performance or an individual focused on weight loss, Elevate Personal Training creates customized programs designed to meet each client’s specific needs and goals.
In the year since the business opened, Elevate Personal Training has worked to customize individualized plans to help clients reach their goals.
“We focus on the individual and what they need and where they want to go,’’ said Ryan Sullivan. He owns the business, which is located at 17 Main Street (Suite 2) in Hopkinton, with his business partner, Dan Goulet.
Elevate does not require memberships and does not offer group classes. Individual appointments are required to ensure personalized service.
Each client receives a free screening to determine particular areas of concern, Sullivan said. Armed with this information and keeping in mind the clients’ goals, trainers work on “tailoring the program so things can move in the right direction.’’
“Once we have where they started and where they want to go, we find the right path to get them where they need to be,’’ Sullivan said.
The assessment also allows the client to meet the staff and tour the facility.
“We want to make sure it’s a good fit,’’ Sullivan said. “Then we can create a game plan.’’
For someone looking to lose 20 pounds, for example, the goal is to “go slow’’ and work steadily. “We’re not looking for quick fixes,’’ Sullivan said. “Our plan is to set you up for success for the long term. They’re all designed based on what they’re capable of working on.’’
Working at a steady pace can help clients stay motivated. Going too quickly can result in sore muscles and exhaustion that can discourage clients, he said.
The plan takes in a variety of factors, including nutrition, exercise and cardiovascular health, which clients can work on during their own time as well as during sessions.
Each session is private and takes place in individual suites. This ensures individual attention without comparing one’s progress to another’s.
“No one’s competing with each other,’’ Sullivan said. “We create a safe, non-distracting environment.’’
Clients book appointments for 45-minute sessions, but Sullivan encourages them to set aside an hour to allow time in the cardio area where they can work on their own.
Sullivan takes pride in the team that has formed in the first year of business. “Building our team has been a big asset in terms of building our reputation,” he said. “Everybody has different backgrounds and different opinions,” which can help when someone is seeking a second opinion or extra input.
He also takes pride in the individual attention each client receives. “We’re making sure we’re not providing a cookie cutter experience, because everybody’s different,’’ he said.
