The Water-Sewer Department will be conducting a required hydrant flow tests on South Street Saturday morning.
The tests will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through the early afternoon. In a notice to residents, Water-Sewer Manager Jed Fenneuff noted the tests could result in water discoloration for customers in the South Street area.
Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released. The Water-Sewer Department recommends residents check their water before use.
Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.
